KeyGuard Password is now KeyCare Pass. Same vault, same account, a new name and address.

Announcement

KeyGuard Password is now KeyCare Pass

Same vault, same account, same encryption. A new name, a new home at keycarepass.com, and the web vault at vault.keycarepass.com.

· GovPAM

What changed

KeyGuard Password, GovPAM's password manager, is now called KeyCare Pass: KeyCare Password Manager, by GovPAM. The product, the team and the way your vault is protected are the same.

Links to keyguard.govpam.com keep working and take you to the new address.

What stays the same

  • Your account, your email address and your master password.
  • Everything in your vault, your folders, your Sends and your organizations.
  • Your plan and your payments through PayFast.
  • End-to-end encryption: your vault is still encrypted on your device with keys only you hold.

What you may need to do

Sign in to the web vault at its new address

Browsers keep sign-ins separately for each address, so you sign in once more at vault.keycarepass.com and may be asked for your two-step login again.

Let the extension update

The browser extension updates itself from the Chrome Web Store and shows the new name. You stay signed in.

Add security keys and passkeys again

Security keys and passkeys are tied to the address they were added on. Those added on keyguard.govpam.com do not work at the new address. Sign in with another two-step method or your recovery code, add the key again under Settings > Security, and remove the old entry. See two-step login.
